Royal Ark Mariner Appointment for W.Bro Ian Muirhead
Friday 23rd October saw our Provincial Grand Master and his leadership team brave the storms and road closures to travel to Macclesfield and attend both the Altrincham Royal Ark Mariner and Mark Lodges, which meet consecutively.
Whilst attending the Royal Ark Mariner Lodge, and with the Provincial leadership in attendance, the Provincial Grand Master took the opportunity to surprise our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro Ian Muirhead, by appointing him to Royal Ark Mariner Provincial Grand Rank.
The appointment was very well received by the brethren present, who warmly congratulated W.Bro Ian and saluted him according to his new rank.
The occasion also saw a splendid donation of £300 from both Lodges towards Masonic charities, demonstrating once again the generosity and charitable spirit of our brethren. Our sincere thanks go to both Lodges for their continued support of these worthy causes.
The Royal Ark Mariner Lodge has, in recent times, experienced some challenges with membership numbers and has been liaising with Province in this respect. Following careful consideration, the Lodge has made the decision to move to daytime meetings.
It is hoped that this change will attract members from slightly further afield who may find it easier to travel during the daytime.
We wish the Lodge every success and offer our full support as they take these carefully considered measures to assist with their long-term sustainability.
Congratulations once again to W.Bro Ian Muirhead on his appointment, and thank you to the brethren of both Lodges for their warm welcome and generosity.
